Have you ever misplace something?  You search and retrace every step you took prior to loosing the object.  This is so frustrating because you believe that the object is right where you left it only to find out that its not!  Minutes, hours and sometimes days may pass before you find it.  Sometimes you give up and just forget about it but later discover that item, at a time when you are not focusing on it.

This reminds me of an incident which occurred back in September 2008.  I lost a very important object that I thought I would never recover.  After spending two days of exhaustingly searching I gave up.  I was so disappointed and depressed.  It was doing this time I was reminded by someone; that although I could not remember were it was there was one who knew the exact location of the object.  We prayed a prayer similar to the prayer entitled "A prayer for misplaced object" on today's prayer board.

I rested in the fact that God knew exactly were  the object was and I that I was asking for wisdom in finding it. Praying this prayer gave me some peace.  I decided that day that I would not let something such as this distract me or disturb my peace.  Jesus is my friend and in His wisdom had me to look in a bag that I had searched several times.

On this particular day after prayer I sat at the breakfast table drinking my morning coffee, viewing the news, and reading the mail.  As I emptied my mail out of the bag something fell to the floor; as I looked down to my surprise it was the lost object.  After laughing I gave God the Glory for answering my prayer and helping me find the object.  This reminds me of Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not until your own understanding in all thy ways acknowledge God and He will direct your path.

Jesus is a friend like non other, if you need a friend try Christ.  You don't have to be alone because what ever you need God's got it!  Reading today's prayer along with this blog entry will give you insight on my friend Jesus.  As the song writer stated:  What a friend we have in Jesus; All our sins and griefs He bears; What a privileged it is to carry every thing to God in prayer.

Thank you God for this privilege

There's a lot that can be said about today's blog title, I hope I will capture the essence of it.  Lets start with Renew: Lamentations 3:22-23) NKJV states :  Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.  Every night while we sleep our body regenerates us by renewing itself.  Most of the things that happen while we sleep we have no ideal.  All we know is that we generally wake up feeling renewed and refreshed.  Even a small power nap as it is call and if available makes you feel so refreshed.  By the same token God renews his mercy and grace toward us daily.

Refresh:  In the Washington, Metropolitan area we are experiencing temperatures that extended into the 90's for the past few days.  The only thing we can do to refresh ourselves is to keep cool, keep hydrated and eat light!  By doing this we can help our bodies to maintain a good temperature and stay alert.  Cast your care upon him (Psalm 145:9) call upon him now while he may be found.  Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help. Whose hope is in the Lord his God, Who make heaven and earth.  The sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever, Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry.   The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners. (Psalm 147:5-7) NKJV  Only God can give you "living water" that you won't  thirst no more be refreshed!

Resolve:  Perhaps you are dealing with something that has not been resolved. Maybe you have been trying to resolve it on your own but can't seem to find the right answer, do the right thing or know where to start.    Is your all on the Alter? (Romans 12:1-2)   A good place to start would be to give it over to Christ who is able to do exceedingly  abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, (Ephesians 3:20). God can  do it! Yes he can!!  There is nothing too hard for him.  In the next few days take the time to renew, refresh, and resolve yourself.  I will be praying for you and yours!

Good evening, before I rest from a day filled with goodness and mercy I wanted to "Take Time" to share this writing.  It is not my own work, in fact the author is unknown I received it today at the 2009 Metropolitan Area Hunger Conference.  It resonated with me and I wanted to share it:

"Take Time"

Take Time to THINK
It is the source of power.
Take Time to PLAY...
It is the secret of perpetual youth...
Take Time to READIt is the fountain of wisdom.

Take Time to PRAY...
It is the greatest power on earth.
Take Time to LOVE and BE LOVED...
It is a God given privilege.
Take Time to BE FRIENDLY...
It is the road to happiness.
Take Time to LAUGH...
It is the music of the soul.

Take Time to GIVE
It is too short a day to be selfish.
Take Time to WORK...
It is the price of success.
Take Time to DO CHARITY...
It is the key to heaven.

            Author unknown

I hope that you "Take Time" today and in the days to come to do the thing that brings you joy and when you do; why not "Take Time" to share your joy with someone else or someone in need.

Be Blessed!

El

Matthew 6 gives us the Lords prayer and in the prayer it asks for God to give us our daily bread.  I wonder how much of this wonderful prayer do we really believe or even take for granted.  God in his wisdom knows what we need and when.  One thing I have learned from this time of testing is the providence of God is so awesome.

On several occasions I have been in a situation just this year were I knew that only God could provide for me. Before in my own strength and finances I took that for granted.  Yes I was thankful that God gave me the strength to work and earn a salary but I relied on that and not him.  Now things are a bit different just as that old song says "What a difference a day makes". LOL

For me my daily bread comes from the Father and not only do I receive it everyday; I am receiving it in the overflow, press down, shaken together, running over kind of blessing.  This time I am not taking the provisions lightly that I receive.  I am careful to give thanks, yet being thankful and not wasteful.  I am also finding the time to share with others and give as it as been given to me.

Perhaps you have found something beautiful in your life that centers around Matthew 6.  Why not share it with others as I have.  Let me know what's happening with you?  See the prayer board for this prayer (Matthew 6:9-15) NRSV.  Not only will God give you "Daily Bread" He will also give you Living Water!  What more could we ask for.

I send to you today my Love for you in Jesus' name

Today, it is raining outside and according to the weather report it will rain most of the day.  However, the sun is still shining.  This reminds me of life and our current economic situation.  To some it may be a cloudy day, week, month or year.  But the "Son" is still shining, this son is Jesus the son of our father.  Don't look at what is happening around you and to you, but look to the hills which cometh your help.

God is our help in the times of sorrow, he wants us to be free of all these worries and depend on him. Read your Bible find a scripture concerning your situation and stand on that truth.  You may say it is easier said than done! But life is not hard when you let God lead the way.  Think about it he is already in your tomorrow preparing for you.

Take heart, encourage yourself and believe that God is faithful to his promises.  The only way you can find this out is if you give him a chance.  Don't hesitate, do it, you have tried every thing else and nothing work.  Well maybe it did but not for long. So give your everlasting father a chance he's waiting just for you!

There is none like him he knows you best.  Spread your wings and dare to dream and remember these words.  "I will preserve you said God"  You will not go down I am your protection.  What you're in now will cause you to be progressive.  Your problems did not come to last but to past.

Be encouraged today because "The Son is still shining"

Be Blessed,

El
